“The concept of exoticism immediately emerged as part of my proposal, perhaps because I’ve always been very susceptible to the images it conjures up in our imagination. There was also the question of curiosity, which for me has always been related to a desire to see and be in the presence of something I don’t fully understand. This is the case with the image of a stuffed parrot, which is something utterly tragic and beautiful. If there is a relationship between pleasure and my artistic practice, it has to do with the freedom to pursue these themes, hoping to one day understand them.”
